Psychic abilities are looked at as a kind of supernatural power that are only possessed by a few lucky or unlucky (depending how you view it) people.
There are a few big myths associated with psychic powers that are worth exploring and understanding. Below are the 5 biggest psychic myths that I have come across.
5 Psychic Myths
1. Only a select few have psychic abilities – The fact that most of us have not experienced psychic powers such as clairvoyance, telepathy or mediumship does not mean that we do not have the ability to.
For some reason certain people have an easier time tapping into their psychic powers than others. However it is fairly common for regular people to develop one or more psychic abilities at different points in their lifetime. Just because you do not feel you have access to your psychic powers today does not mean you will never experience them.
2. All those who possess psychic abilities are at the same level – This myth assumes that all those who are able to tap into their psychic powers are at the same level in their psychic development.
Each person has a different degree of psychic awareness. Their abilities change over time and grow. Some people are far more advanced than others. Many of us will gain access to our psychic abilities at a slower rate. Some others still have yet to discover their psychic powers. Everyone grows at different rates and on different levels.
3. Pyschic powers are evil – The belief in psychic powers has gone through many different stages in history. Once psychic abilities were revered and widely accepted then later went through a period of being feared and seen as evil.
Today the world is changing quickly and more and more people are opening to a new reality and a new consciousness. Although psychic awareness is rampant and accepted by many there are still those who fear psychic powers and think they originate from evil origins as well as are used for negativity.
In order to dispel this myth it is important to read and educate others about psychic abilities. The truth is that psychic powers are a part of all of us and it is nothing to be feared. Having psychic abilities simply means that you have reached a higher level of consciousness.
4. You have to be born with psychic abilities in order to have them – It is my belief that every person is born with psychic abilities. Just because you do not know it does not mean that you do not have them. Psychic abilities can be developed greatly over the course of a lifetime.
One person may be born with a higher level of access to their psychic powers. However that does not mean that a person with little obvious psychic awareness can not hone their psychic skills and abilities throughout life.
5. All psychic abilities are the same – This could not be less true. There is a huge range of psychic abilities that have been documented over time. Psychic powers can range from mind reading, to communicating with the dead, to foreseeing the future to communicating with spirits and angels and a whole lot more. There are many different types of psychic abilities and skills possessed by people from all over the world.
Understanding these myths and knowing more about psychic powers will help your own psychic awareness to grow and develop. Each person is a psychic waiting to be discovered at the right time. If you can embrace your gifts and work to develop them you will find your consciousness growing by leaps and bounds.
For more information on the different types of psychic powers see our comprehensive list of psychic abilities.

I am always intrigued when sceptics proclaim that they can reproduce the occurrences of the seance room. Commonly, such claims are made by armchair ‘experts’ with no knowledge or experience of the actual events of the modern day seance room.

I entirely agree with Stewart regarding the skepics – you will never win with them. I applaud his attitude to concentrate on providing whatever evidence he can through his seances to the public.
Far too many mediums of the past wasted too much time and energy trying to convince scientists, investigators etc. The result? A lot of controversy and precious little else.
Well done Stewart. I attended several of his seances during the days of the Noah’s Ark Society and was always impressed with his mediumship. Although I never got any personal evidence, my sister did and she told me that no one in the room could have known what she was told.

Many thanks for years of service which has, no doubt, helped very many people who otherwise would not have believed in life after death. Comfort in times of loneliness and grief deserves acknowledgement and the great work performed by mediums has made all the difference in a world doubting genuine supernatural or psychic ability, in spite of the fact that to some extent, this is inherent in everyone.
Thank you for being a trail-blazer Stewart Alexander. Relax and enjoy your semi-retirement which will continue to bring enlightenment and loving reassurance, I am sure.

Dont get me started on Caylor !!
As for Stewart, he has provided the most wonderful service for spirit on both sides of the vibration, a huge thank you to him and his circle members for their love and devotion over the years.

I have had the pleasure of attending several seances with Stewart, both large-scale demonstrations at Cober Hill near Scarborough and smaller more intimate seances in Hull.
They were an amazing and very educational experience, and worth driving 500 miles for.
I have also seen first hand how the seances leave him completely drained and ‘washed out’ at the end ; repetition of that must clearly have physical consequences for him. I can therefore understand his reluctant decision to stop the large-scale demonstrations.
I naturally wish Stewart well in his semi-retirement, but I also wonder how we will ever find a medium to replace him.

As always I can only sing Stewart’s praises and hope that there will be a future physical medium of his like.
Wonderful evidence of survival has been experienced and witnessed by myself and my group.
Long may you keep up the seances in Hull. For how are we to learn and understand without your expereince.
I wish you well in your semi retirement.

I was very privileged to be invited to one of Stewart’s seances and the memory of that will stay with me for the rest of my life.
My mother and grandfather came through and spoke through Stewart as did his friend Walter and Freda who i was blessed to have conversations with.
Stewart is a very humble person as were his friends Ray and June. Once again I felt very privileged to have been invited to Ray and June’s home and of Stewarts seance.
I saw manifestations, the trumpet flew and touched me and others and there was further communication from Dr Barnett and Stewart’s guide, White Feather. It was a beautiful evening, filled with love not only from the spirit but fellow sitters.
Nobody will ever be tell me any different to what i saw and heard with my own eyes that evening.

I friends,
I have little expereiince of Warren Caylor however I shalll attend his séance in January at Leamington Spa…
Would any “non skeptics” care to share with me what their concerns are about him? i would very much like to hear this?
I’am a full believer in this activity, and i trust fully stewarts séances, however you are not the first comments i’ve heard negatively re: Warren Caylor
I look forward to a detailed response from someone objectively explaining what I should be looking for that casts such negativity.
Many Thanks to you all
Warren James

As a regular member of Stewart’s home circle for over 10 years, before moving to live in Spain some 9 years ago, I can only thank him and his circle members for so many wonderful evenings at Rayondo and June’s home.
He is so humble and committed to spreading the Truth of Life after Death as we are, we really look forward to reading his memoirs when he finds time to write his special book. Many many thanks Stewart.
Enjoy your retirement with your lovely wife Sue. You both deserve it Tom and Ann H

Quite simply, I have been priveledged over the years to be involved with Stewart’s demonstrations, and it is entirely due to his unselfish attitude and that of Freda and Walter that I held my son’s hand 2 and one half years after he passed to spirit. There will not be another like Stewart who is genuine and caring in his everyday life as well as his spiritual work, and I count myself very lucky that he calls me his friend. I applaud and agree with his decision.

Apologies, my reply isn’t about Stewart as I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting him. I am trying to locate Phil Scott and google threw up this article. I used to visit Phil when he lived in Stroud and having lost contact with him would dearly like to get back in touch to see if a) he is still doing readings or b) he can recommend someone who was as insightful as he was. I don’t expect you to pass his details on to me but my email address is enclosed (jai@jai68.orangehome.co.uk) and I would be most grateful if you could pass my details on to him if you know how to get in contact with him.
With grateful thanks,

Re: Warren Caylor, there are so so many who claim he is nothing morethan a fraud, then on the other hand there are equally if not more who are shouting his connection to Spirit from the roof tops, all I can say is dont judge him on others negative comments ,go witness him for yourself then decide, after have not most Mediums been called fakes and frauds at times even stuart himself no doubt.
I personally saw Warren demo and it was amazing, I have also seen Stuart demo and although very different equally amazing

I am just a ordinary human being, over the months I have purchased copies of “your eternal self” R. C. Hogan which I have donated free of any charge to hospices, and individuals with enough intelligence to read what is available regarding our probable immortality before condeming the possibility, I personaly would love the additional proof by way of attending a genuine medium myself.
I was given stewarts name by david,(zerdin) but I have no contact detail, would it be possible to make contact with this medium for a private sitting?
